During his four-year letterman career at Grandview, Spencer played a pivotal role in leading the Zebras to three consecutive district championships and deep playoff runs. His senior year was nothing short of legendary — a season that remains unmatched in Grandview history. Spencer shattered expectations by surpassing 1,000 yards both rushing and receiving while scoring an incredible 34 touchdowns. This stellar performance not only earned him statewide recognition but also secured him a full-ride scholarship to the University of Houston.

Standing 6 feet tall and weighing 195 pounds, Spencer made the seamless transition to the college game, where he played wide receiver for the Cougars. His talent quickly caught the attention of college football experts. In 2014, Spencer earned a spot on the prestigious Biletnikoff Award Watch List — a coveted honor recognizing the nation’s top wide receiver. Additionally, he was named to Phil Steele’s Preseason American Athletic Conference Second Team, cementing his place as one of the league’s top offensive threats.

Spencer’s contributions on the field were invaluable to the University of Houston’s offense. He was a consistent playmaker who delivered key performances throughout his college career. One standout moment came in 2012 against Louisiana Tech, where Spencer recorded seven receptions for 157 yards and a touchdown, showcasing his ability to change the game with one big play.
