Derek Jarrell

Derek Jarrell was the starting quarterback for Grandview High School during the 2009 and 2010 football seasons, where he established himself as one of the program’s most dynamic leaders on the field. As a dual-threat quarterback, Derek played with a rare blend of finesse and accuracy, making him a constant threat both through the air and on the ground. His ability to deliver precise passes while also extending plays with his legs gave Grandview’s offense the versatility to compete at the highest level.

Nine years after graduating, Derek returned to his alma mater to continue making an impact on the program that shaped him. He joined the Grandview coaching staff during the 2019 season, the same year the Zebras captured their Second State Championship. Now serving as the quarterbacks coach, Derek brings his playing experience and deep understanding of the position to a new generation of athletes, helping develop their skills, confidence, and leadership on the field.

Today, Derek is recognized not only for his memorable years behind center but also for his ongoing dedication to Grandview football. His journey from starting quarterback to championship-winning coach reflects his lifelong passion for the game and his commitment to building excellence within the Zebra program. Both as a player and as a coach, Derek Jarrell’s influence continues to leave a lasting mark on Grandview High School football.
