Shelby Grissett

CLASS OF 2009

While at Western Hills, Shelby participated in soccer and cross-country, and was a standout athlete in both. She was a four-year varsity athlete in cross country and soccer, as well as captain for both teams starting her sophomore year.

In cross-country, Shelby went to the regional meet all four years. In soccer, she was All District MVP, All District Offensive MVP, and First Team All District.

Shelby went on to play college soccer at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX for one year, earning a spot on the All Tournament Team at the Southland Conference Tournament, and broke the school record for fastest hat trick. After a series of head injuries, she decided to end her soccer career early, and transferred to the University of North Texas in Denton to pursue a degree in Biology.

Shelby returned to Western Hills in 2014 as a teacher, and currently teaches science and coaches soccer and volleyball.
